How to become a Block Captain

Block Captain Role

Time commitment is about 4 hours per year to connect with your 8 neighbours. Welcome new neighbours with a new Neighbourhood Watch package. If you need additional resources for your block, contact our office.

Board Member Role

The Board meets quarterly. Time commitment is approx. 5-10 hours a year for 4 meetings, and some fun events that we organize or participate with such as Touch-A-Truck and a booth at the Red Deer Home Show each March.

1. Complete the online Registration Form below to become a Block Watch Captain.

2. Pick up your free NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH Block Captain Bag from our office at the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre: 1 - 4311 49 Ave, Red Deer, AB, Please call before coming to the Centre. PLEASE NOTE: We can arrange to have a bag delivered to you are not able to make it into the Centre.

3. Connect with the 8 neighbours on your "block" (one on each side of you; 3 in front of you, 3 behind you). Give them a package, exchange contact info (optional), and look out for one another.
